Establish time for concentrated prayer. It’s best to set aside a daily time alone with God. To start your day with God often works best, but establishing any specific time as your daily appoint with God is better than not.

Reserve the place for serious praying, quiet and free from interruptions, not in front of the TV or with the radio or stereo going. Let that be your secret place (Psalm 91:1-2) for fellowship with God.

Settle on the your pattern for praying:

1. The God-given model found in Matthew 6:9-13 is an excellent skeleton for the structure of much praying.

2. Use your scripture of the day as springboard for prayer. For example, “Our Heavenly Father, help me to be one of those mentioned in Matthew 5:6, who hunger and thirst for righteousness so that I may know Your filling.”
